Shinsuna water gate

Water gate that Ougi type gate swings

The water gate at the entrance to the Sunamachi Canal connects the canal with the mouth of the Arakawa River. It is 23.4 m wide and was completed in 1976 (the 51st year of the Showa era). The flood gate is constructed in a so-called ‘sector gate’ form, with two folding doors that swing via fulcrums.
